Saskatoon Public Library temporarily moving to curbside, virtual services
Move meant to slow spread of COVID-19, situation will be re-evaluated in 2 weeks

As of Monday, all Saskatoon Public LIbrary branches will be temporarily closing their locations to the public.
According to a news release, the decision was made to slow the spread of COVID-19.
"Since the beginning of the pandemic, our primary concern at SPL has been the safety of employees and patrons," wrote CEO Carol Cooley.
"With the recent rise of COVID-19 in Saskatoon, and a particularly ominous rise in variants of concern, we feel closing our libraries to in-person visits is the right decision for our community at this time."
As of Thursday, there were 32 new cases of COVID-19 in the Saskatoon Region, and 482 active cases.
Library patrons will still be able to place holds for curbside pickup of books, as well as contactless printing and faxing services. Grab and Go bags and outreach services at the Francess Morrison Public Library's walk-up window will also be available.
The library will re-evaluate the situation in two weeks.
All libraries will be open for curbside pickup of books between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday to Saturday, with the exception of the J.S. Wood Branch Library and the Dr. Freda Ahenakew Library.
