The Meewasin Valley Authority now has trails linking Wanuskewin Heritage Park in the north with Chief Whitecap Park in the south.

This morning, it officially opened a seven-kilometre stretch from Diefenbaker Park to Whitecap. The manicured gravel is open to cyclists, runners, hikers and walkers.

Students from the Eco Justice class at St. Edward School were invited to be the first cyclists on the trail.

The north and south sections are both part of the Trans Canada Trail. They add a combined 15 kilometres to the Meewasin Valley Authority's 80 kilometres of trails.
