What's open and what's closed on Remembrance Day in Saskatoon

Some civic services are closed for Remembrance Day, others have restricted hours

Several civic and business services are closed or offering restricted hours on Remembrance Day. Other services are on normal schedules. Here is a round-up.

  • City Hall will be closed.
  • All Saskatoon Public Library locations are closed.
  • The municipal impound lot is not releasing vehicles to the public.
  • Saskatoon landfill is open from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Garbage and Recycling collection will take place as scheduled.
  • The Saskatoon Civic Conservatory is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Admission is free.

Transportation

  • Parking is free, but drivers are asked to move their vehicles within the time period shown on parking meters to allow for a turnover. 
  • Saskatoon Transit will operate with regular Sunday/Holiday Service.
  • Access Transit will operate with regular Holiday Service from 8:15 a.m. to 11:00 p.m.  Trips must be booked in advance as per normal procedures.  Customers are reminded that subscriptions do not apply on Statutory Holidays.
  • Transit Customer Service phone lines will be available from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Shopping

  • Many stores are open, but some malls only open after 11 a.m. It's best to phone ahead or check mall or store websites beforehand. 
  • Sask Liquor stores in Saskatoon are closed

Recreation facilities

  • Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park & Zoo is open regular hours (zoo: 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., park: 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.)
  • Indoor arenas are open regular hours. 
  • Cosmo Civic Centre is closed. 
  • Fitness Circuit & Terry Fox Track (in the SaskTel Sports Centre) is closed
  • Lakewood Civic Centre is open 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Fitness classes and child minding services are cancelled. 
  • Lawson Civic Centre is open 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. All fitness classes are cancelled. 
  • Saskatoon Field House is open 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. All fitness classes and child minding services are cancelled. But there is a holiday Zumba class from 12:30 p.m.to 1:30 p.m.
  • Shaw Centre is open from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. All fitness classes and child minding services are cancelled.
  • Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre is open from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. All fitness classes are cancelled.
  • The city is asking people to visit Drop-in Online at www.saskatoon.ca/dropinonline to find out more about modifications at leisure facilities today.
