OPP recover body of George Brammer in Lake Huron

Ontario Provincial Police say the body of a missing 74-year-old boater in Lake Huron has been recovered.

Ontario Provincial Police say the body of a missing 74-year-old boater has been recovered in Lake Huron.

On Friday, police were notified about the missing boater on the south shore of Manitoulin Island.

Police said an unattended vessel belonging to a visitor from West Virginia was found anchored offshore.

On Saturday afternoon, the body was recovered from Michael's Bay off Manitoulin Island by the OPP Underwater Search and Rescue team.

The remains were identified as George Robert Brammer of Huntington, West Virginia.

OPP said Brammer was not wearing a life jacket.

A post-mortem was scheduled to take place on Monday in Sudbury to determine the exact cause of death.
