The former Kingsway Hotel in Sudbury is being torn down.

It was once the place to have a drink and kick up your heels, but its glory days are over.

Historian and photographer Ray Thoms recently shared some memories of the place with CBC Sudbury's Morning North radio show host Markus Schwabe.

The demolition of the building is expected to take two to three weeks.

Once the building is gone, the city will be able to assess in the spring how far pollution from a former gas station on the property has spread.
