A 48-year-old man was found dead in his house early Monday morning, prompting Ontario's police watchdog to call an investigation.
According to the Special Investigations Unit, just after midnight officers with the Greater Sudbury Police Services set up a perimeter around a house in the city's west-end after receiving a call.
Around 2:30 a.m., police and paramedics entered the residence, where they found the man.
Police said he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The SIU is an arm's length agency that investigates reports involving police where there has been death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault.
A post-mortem on the victim is scheduled for Wednesday.
