Sunshine List includes Sudbury educators, health officials

Executives at Health Sciences North were among the province's top-paid employees last year, according to the Ontario Sunshine List. 

Chris Bourdon made $374,000 as vice-president and chief of staff of the Sudbury hospital in 2014, while Dr. Denis Roy earned $347,000 as its president and CEO according to the annual list of public sector employees, released Friday, who brought in more than $100,000. 

Sudbury-area educators and other health officials also made the list.

​Laurentian University president Dominic Giroux made just under $300,000 while former Cambrian College president Sylvia Barnard is listed with an income of $221,000. 

Barnard retired in 2013, and is listed as "president emeritus" for 2014. 

The school's current president, Bill Best, who started last August is not on the list.

Collège Boréal​ president Denis Hubert Dutrisac earned $209,000 according to the list, while Medical Officer of Health Dr. Penny Sutcliffe was paid $272,000.

A total of 111,438 public sector workers in Ontario made the latest list, up by more than 13,600 over last year.
