Ontario Provincial Police are reporting multiple road closures in northeastern Ontario.due to heavy rainfall Wednesday night into Thursday.

Flooding has closed both lanes of Highway 17 between Wawa and Montreal River Harbour and OPP say repairs could take days.

The closure has cut off access to Lake Superior Provincial Park, but you can get to Pancake Bay Provincial Park, if approaching from the south.

The storm also created several washouts in the Espanola area, including on Highway 6, between Birch Lane and Hopkins Road, and on Fox Lake Road.

Old Webbwood Road, near civic number 241, in the Sables Spanish Rivers Township, was also fully closed due to a washout.

Minto Road, between Davis Road and Old Nairn Road in Nairn Centre, was closed Thursday due to a washout as well.

A storm in June that caused a powerful downburst in Samuel de Champlain Provincial Park also caused some washouts at that time, along Highway 630.
