The case involving criminal charges against Thunder Bay Police Chief J.P. Levesque has been remanded to July 18 after the matter was first before the courts on Tuesday.
Levesque was charged with breach of trust and obstructing justice by Ontario Provincial Police in May.

Levesque is being defended by Brian Gover, who also was not at Tuesday's hearing. He was represented by duty counsel.
A judicial pre-trial is a closed meeting among lawyers and judge to discuss any issues that may arise at trial. Expected in August.

Levesque was placed on administrative suspension by the Thunder Bay Police Services Board on May 25. He is also on medical leave.
