Video of a frightening collision near Kenora, Ont. has gone viral, garnering nearly 1,000 shares on Facebook as of Wednesday afternoon.

Ralph Ireland of Sioux Lookout, Ont. said he's lucky to be alive after the crash, which took place Saturday on the Kenora Bypass on Highway 17.

Ireland said he and his wife were heading home after a trip to Winnipeg when they collided with another truck.

"Had I not hit the brakes, he'd be dead," said Ireland. "And we might be as well."

Ontario Provincial Police have charged the other driver, a 36-year-old man from Manitoba, with failing to yield to traffic on a through highway.

Police said they received video of the incident on Tuesday, and they continue to investigate.
