Thunder Bay police have issued a renewed appeal for information in the case of a man who went missing a year ago.

Richard Graham was last seen on July 30, 2024, boarding a Thunder Bay Transit bus in the 500 block of Cumberland Street.

The bus was heading south, but where Graham got off the bus is unknown, police said Wednesday.

"We've taken many investigative steps since that time to try and locate Richard, including talking to witnesses, talking to people on the street, reviewing all types of video surveillance throughout the city that we've had access to, physical searches on the ground, including using canine in various locations where we believe that he was heading to," said Thunder Bay police Det. Kevin Bradley. "We've had our drone up in the air. We've searched waterways, so very extensive searches."

"What we're just asking for today is if there's any members of the community, anybody who has information that could come forward, whether it's through the police service ourselves, through Crime Stoppers, any information would help us."

Graham is described as a white male, with a slim build. He's five-foot-six, with medium-length red hair, a red beard, and hazel eyes.

When last seen, Graham was wearing a camouflage short-sleeved shirt, black pants with a subtle camouflage pattern, grey and black running shoes, and a camouflage-pattern ballcap.

He was carrying a black backpack with a waist belt and a large white patch on the top.

"We just don't know what happened to him," Graham's father Dwayne Poster said. "It's just like he walked off the face of the earth."

"It's been a very difficult time for our family," he said. "The stress level is beyond what anybody could ever imagine, believe me."

Bradley said Graham has also been listed on canadamissing.ca, which is a national database of missing people that's managed by the RCMP.

"We also have a provincial working group through the province of Ontario, that's managed by the Ontario Provincial Police that all services access to," Bradley said. "That's an active working group that services across Ontario have access to and can upload information, photos, DNA, dental records, that sort of thing."

"Both those systems are being used right now," he said. "We haven't learned anything from either one of those processes or those steps at this point, but that information is there and hopefully we'll get some possible leads coming from those locations."

Anyone with information about Graham's whereabouts is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
