MP Bruce Hyer wants constituent input on Canada's fight against ISIS
PM Stephen Harper proposed expansion and extension of 6-month Iraq mission on Tuesday
One of Thunder Bay's members of Parliament wants to know what people, particularly those who live in his riding, think of Canada's military involvement in Iraq against the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) terrorist group.
Green Party deputy leader Bruce Hyer, who represents the riding of Thunder Bay–Superior North, wants residents to email him their thoughts on the issue.
Prime Minister Stephen Harper proposed in the House of Commons on Tuesday to expand and extend Canada's initial six-month military mission in Iraq and asked for support for an additional one-year air mission against ISIS, also known as ISIL.

Hyer said he needs to know how his constituents feel, so that he can represent their opinion in the House of Commons.
"I already know there are some people who are opposed, I know some people who are very supportive and very worried about ISIL, and feel we should be involved, but I don't really have a good sense of the subtleties, by some people," he said.
MPs are set to to debate the motion beginning on Thursday. Both the New Democrat and Liberal opposition parties voted against the initial motion.
