In a world where fishing lures are mass produced and marketed by the thousands Joe Kostecki is a throwback.

The Terrace Bay man and his son started hand tying feathered bucktail jigs for fishing, notably brook trout in the Nipigon River, in the early 2000's.

Kostecki could no longer purchase the jigs when retail outlets stopped selling them in Thunder Bay so he found someone to teach him how to tie them.

Kostecki then enlisted his eight-year-old son, Mitch, to start their basement-based business and Mighty Mitch and Jungle Joe's Jig Flies was born.

Outdoor columnist, Gord Ellis spoke to Superior Morning host, Lisa Laco about this unique father-son duo.
