It's most often seen in the bush or on the battlefield, but Mark St. Cyr thinks camouflage belongs on the cat walk.

The Thunder Bay man said he created 'Canadian Camo Diva' to meet a growing demand he is seeing for clothing that reflects women's "outdoors personality."

"My wife and I live a real outdoor lifestyle and we wanted fashion that would reflect our lifestyle," St. Cyr said during a fashion shoot for the new line of dresses and gowns.

Myla Brand said she earned her spot as a model for the camo formal wear designs by submitting to St. Cyr examples of her activities in the bush and on the water.

"I harvest animals," said the Red Rock resident. "I hunt, I fish, I snowshoe."

Brand said "it's hard to find clothing [for the outdoors] targeted to women."

It's a demand St. Cyr is hoping to meet by selling the clothes at outdoor trade shows and farmers markets.

"More and more women are active in the outdoors," he said.
