Thunder Bay police investigate serious motor vehicle collision involving motorcycle

The Thunder Bay Police Service is investigating a serious motor vehicle collision that happened Thursday in Westfort. Here's what we know so far.

The Thunder Bay Police Service is investigating a serious motor vehicle collision that happened Thursday in the city's Westfort neighbourhood. 

Emergency services responded to the area of James Street and Gore Street just before noon, police said in a news release issued shortly before 1 p.m.

CBC News witnessed a damaged motorcycle at the intersection near Mount McKay Place plaza, which remained closed to traffic for much of the afternoon. 

Traffic is expected to be disrupted, and members of the public are asked to avoid the area, police said.
