A woman declared a hostile witness has finished testifying at the Randal Dooley murder trial in Toronto. Charlotte Williams is the sister of Marcia Dooley, Randall's stepmother.

Dooley and her husband, Tony, are charged with the second-degree murder of his son, Randal, who died of head and internal injuries in September of 1998.

The crown prosecutor continued to grill Williams about her sister, Marcia Dooley, and about what happened to Randal.

For a second day, Williams answered she couldn't remember or didn't know.

Crown lawyer, Rita Zaid, suggested Williams has no memory of all the significant things that happened to Randal.

Williams replied: "If I don't remember, I don't remember."

The crown accused Williams of protecting both her own and her family's reputation in her community. When Zaid accused her of trying to protect her own reputation, Williams countered that her sister did not need protection.

Williams then took questions from the defence lawyers. Tony Dooley's lawyer suggested her client was out of town for several months at a time.

During questions from Marica Dooley's lawyer, Williams said she and her sister would babysit each other's children.

Dooley's lawyer said the crown has suggested Williams knew Marcia Dooley was bragging about abusing Randal. With that in mind, Damian Frost asked Williams if she would have sent her children to a place where she could be beaten or abused.

Williams said, "never".
