The Ontario Liberal Party says its caucus and executive council has unanimously voted to support Bonnie Crombie to stay on as party leader—despite the fact she didn't win a seat in Thursday's election.

The party says it commends Crombie for her leadership during the snap election after the Liberals regained party status for the first time in seven years, winning 14 seats.

"I am so proud of this Caucus, and grateful to have their support," Crombie said in a news release Saturday.

"Our team's momentum is undeniable, you could feel it in the room."

Crombie was elected party leader in December 2023 while she was the mayor of Mississauga.

Crombie lost out to Progressive Conservative candidate Silvia Gualtieri in Mississauga East-Cooksville.
