This video was posted online and appears to show a TTC bus running a red light and then nearly striking a pedestrian.

A TTC driver who was caught accelerating through a red light is "no longer with the TTC," according to a spokesman.

The bus was travelling along Eglinton Avenue East in Scarborough when it appeared to slow down for a stop, but then sped up through a red light. It narrowly avoided striking a pedestrian who was crossing the street.

It is unclear whether the driver was fired or quit, because the TTC would not elaborate further.

Previously Brad Ross, a spokesman for the TTC, told CBC News the incident is "concerning," adding that the TTC is in the process of "identifying the operator and taking appropriate actions."

Ross called it an "egregious running of a red light."
