Police say they are treating the assault of a man early Friday morning in Toronto's entertainment district as a hate crime.
The 49-year-old victim was walking on King Street when he was approached by a group of men who made derogatory comments about his sexuality and then assaulted him, police say.
He suffered non-life-threatening injuries, including a possible concussion and a large laceration to his eye.
The police are still looking for the suspects, all of whom are white men between the ages of 20 and 25.
Police are asking for anyone who may know anything about the case to come forward.
