A shooting in Etobicoke has left a male dead on Wednesday evening, Toronto police say.

The shooting happened in the area of Martin Grove and Albion roads around 9 p.m., police said.

When officers arrived, they found a male with injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. There's no word on the victim's age.

Police have not released a description of a suspect.

Roads were closed in the area as officers investigated.
