Man charged with impaired driving after Richmond Hill crash leaves 21-year-old dead
Suspect, 21, faces a number of charges following deadly crash
York Regional Police have charged a 21-year-old with impaired driving after a brutal Richmond Hill crash that left a young woman dead.
Police allege the suspect was driving a Toyota Camry that T-boned a Chevrolet Cruze near the intersection of Bayview Avenue and Woodriver Street at around 9:30 p.m. on Sunday night.
A 21-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Cruze died at the scene, while the car's driver suffered serious injuries.
The suspect was also taken to hospital, but he has since been released into police custody.
The suspect, who lives in Toronto, faces a slew of charges including impaired driving causing death, dangerous driving causing death and refusing to provide a breath sample.
The man is set to appear at a Newmarket court on Monday.
