Man wanted in fatal shooting of Toronto rapper Smoke Dawg arrested in B.C.
Abdulkadir Handule, 23, was arrested on unrelated charges in Burnaby, B.C., last month

A man wanted in connection to last summer's fatal shootings of two men well known in the Toronto rap scene was arrested in B.C. and transferred back to the city, police said Friday.
Jahvante Smart, 21, a rapper known as Smoke Dawg and Ernest Modekwe, 28, a brand manager for a hip-hop collective known as Prime, were gunned down on Queen Street W. in June 2018.
A woman was also shot and injured in the same incident and is still recovering, police said.
A nationwide arrest warrant was issued for Abdulkadir Handule, who was 22 at the time. He was wanted on two counts of first-degree murder.
Police said that Handule, now 23, was arrested along with two other men by RCMP in Burnaby, B.C., last month for kidnapping and forcible confinement. He was turned over to Toronto police shortly after.
Handule appeared in court on Thursday this week. He is next scheduled to appear via video link on September 11.
Investigators say they're still looking for another suspect who cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Police asked that anyone with information about his whereabouts contact investigators or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers. The suspect is considered "armed, violent and dangerous," police said.
Smart released his first single in 2015 and was on rapper Drake's Boy Meets World tour.
