Five boys — one of whom is only 12 years old — are now facing charges in connection with two people being stabbed near a Scarborough high school on Monday, Toronto police say.

Officers were first called about a stabbing incident in the Guildwood Parkway and Livingston Road area around 1:50 p.m., investigators said in a news release.

Five people approached two victims who were waiting at a bus stop, according to police, and then assaulted them while demanding their cellphones and wallets.

Two 15-year-old boys were stabbed during the assault, police say, and sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators on the case were subsequently able to identify and arrest five people, who range in age from 12 years old to 15 years old.

All of them now face charges of robbery with an offensive weapon, two counts of assault causing bodily harm, and possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace.

Everyone charged in connection with the case is set to be back in court in June.
