The annual Taste of Little Italy festival will take over the College Street area this weekend.

College Street, between Shaw Street and Bathurst Street, will be closed starting at 3 p.m. on Friday until 3 a.m. on Monday, according to the festival's website.

The event, which is expected to attract around 250,000 people this year, will run from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

The festival will feature live music, extended patios, carnival rides, and free tastings.

A few local favourites will be at the festival including Café Diplomatico, Bella Vista, Riviera Bakery and Bear Steak Sandwiches.

"Motorists can expect delays in the area and should consider alternate methods of transportation," Toronto police said in a news release.

"The TTC will not be operating within these boundaries during the road closure times specified."
