Toronto police identify boy, 15, fatally shot on weekend in Weston

Toronto police have identified a 15-year-old boy who died in hospital after he was shot in Weston neighbourhood on Saturday night.

Toronto police have identified a 15-year-old boy who died in hospital after he was shot in Weston neighbourhood on Saturday night.

Jahkai Jack, of Toronto, was shot near Emmett Avenue and Jane Street, police said in a news release on Wednesday. Officers were called to the area shortly after 10 p.m. 

When police arrived, they found him outside, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No suspect has been arrested in the case. Police said the suspect fled the area before they arrived on the scene.

Jack is the city's 14th homicide victim of the year. No photo of him has been released.

Police have not said if the shooting was targeted or connected to previous shootings.
