Rainfall slowing down, but city warns there could be still be flooding
Heavy rain has been drenching Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area, which has led to flooding in low-lying areas where the ground can no longer absorb any more water.
Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area are still in the grip of an extended rainstorm, which could still cause flooding as Lake Ontario and other waterways continue to rise.
The majority of the rain that was in the forecast has already fallen, Environment Canada said at 4:05 p.m.
As of 2 p.m., the last figures available, downtown Toronto had seen more than 43.9 mm of precipitation.
