The King streetcar route has been split into two for the first weekend of the Toronto International Film Festival.

TIFF festivities have closed part of King Street West for a second straight year. As a result, the TTC is not servicing any streetcar or bus stops between University and Spadina Avenues from Sept. 8-11.

Instead, there are eastern and western loops for the streetcars. Rush-hour buses that serve the route are diverting around the festival closures.

Here's how the closure will affect your routes this weekend, according to the TTC:

504 King streetcar

  • West — Streetcars will travel from Dundas West Station along King Street and turn back via Spadina Avenue, Adelaide Street and Charlotte Street.
  • East — Streetcars will travel from Broadview Station along King Street and turn back via Church, Wellington and York Streets.

504 King supplemental buses

  • Eastbound — along King Street and diverting via Spadina Avenue, Adelaide Street and University Avenue to route.
  • Westbound — along King Street and diverting via University Aveune, Richmond Street and Spadina Avenue.

514 Cherry and 304 King night streetcars

  • Eastbound — along King Street and diverting via Spadina Avenue, Queen Street and Church Street.
  • Westbound — along King Street and diverting via York Street, Queen Street and Spadina Ave.

304 King bus bridge from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m.

  • West — via University Avenue, Richmond Street, Spadina Avenue. and Adelaide Street West to route.
  • East — via Parliament Street, Front Street and Sherbourne Street to route.

The TTC said it will have employees positioned around the route to help anyone requiring assistance with route planning.
