A 43-year-old woman has been charged after driving with six times the legal blood alcohol concentration in Courtice, Ont., on Friday, Durham police said.

When they arrived, they found the vehicle, a white Kia Sportage, and spoke to the driver.
"The driver showed obvious signs of impairment and was arrested," police said.
Breath test results showed 480 milligrams and 460 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood, they said. The legal limit is 80 milligrams.
The woman, who is from Port Hope, has been charged with impaired operation and impaired operation — blood alcohol concentration, police said. She was released on an undertaking.
In the post on X, police urged people to call 911 if they suspect a driver is impaired.
"You could save a life," they said.
