A Toronto woman has been charged with fraud after allegedly impersonating someone to be employed at long-term care homes in the Greater Toronto Area.
The woman impersonated someone by using their name and nursing credentials to get hired at "various" long-term care homes in the region, Toronto police said in a news release on Tuesday.
She also fabricated several documents to gain employment, police said.
The accused, 31, was employed at these homes between June 2020 and June 2024, the news release said.
Police identified and located her on Sunday, police said. She has been charged with two counts of uttering a forged document, personation to gain advantage and fraud over $5,000.
She is scheduled to appear in court on June 24.
