Muslims in Windsor have been collecting food and other items while they fast throughout the month of Ramadan.

Twenty dollars fills a bag with items like pasta, tuna and toiletries.

Sousan Khaled, the coordinator of Spirit of Ramadan, says it feels good to give, especially because she understands the feeling of hunger while fasting during Ramadan.

"At the same time as your feeling this hunger, you can't help but to think of those who are less fortunate who don't have a meal at the end of the day," Khaled said. "So we know when I'm done this, we wrap up and we clean up, we go home to a meal. Not a lot of people have that."

Khaled says the bags will be donated to 16 charities across Windsor.
