Free Canada 150 swag flying out of local MP offices
'We get many calls on a daily basis'
If you want to pick up free Canada 150 swag from your local MP's office, you better move fast. There's been a run on the patriotic knickknacks since they arrived two weeks ago and they're likely to be gone by Canada Day.

Free patriotic paraphernalia is being distributed to MP offices across the region and country in honour of Canada's sesquicentennial. There are different pins, flags, tattoos and even special Canada 150 screen wipers.
"We get many calls on a daily basis," said Nadine Abi Raad, the constituency and outreach assistant for Essex MP Tracey Ramsey. "There's a huge demand for the large Canada flag, and we only have one left."
Abi Raad said they received the special inventory two weeks ago, and by June 29 only a quarter of the trinkets were left. She believes the demand for the goodies is so high here because of the patriotic fervour of Windsor and Essex County residents.
Windsor-Tecumseh MP Cheryl Hardcastle said the Canada Day knickknacks are also good to keep as a commemorative milestone, to look at where our country is and what we're proud of, and even what we should work on.
"It's nice, especially for the kids. In 50 years they can say they were there when we celebrated the Canada 150."
