The city's first seed-lending program starts today at the Forest Glade branch of the Windsor Public Library.

People can "borrow" seeds, plant them in their garden and when the plant germinates, bring some of the new seeds back to the branch.

Adam Peltier is organizing the pilot project and is the public service librarian at the Forest Glade branch.

He says there will be a lot of plants to choose from.

"We're going to have a variety of seeds. We're going to have simple plants, like mint, and a few other varieties. We're going to have up to 25 different types of seeds," he said.
