Stoned driver tries to flee three-vehicle crash
Two children and the driver of another vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries from the crash that occurred at College and Campbell avenues around 6 p.m.
Man was high while driving stolen vehicle involved in crash, say police
A Windsor man who tried to leave a messy three-vehicle crash Tuesday evening has been charged with impaired driving for being high behind the wheel.
Two children and the driver of another vehicle were taken to hospital with minor injuries from the crash that occurred at College and Campbell avenues around 6 p.m.
The stoned driver tried to leave, but a witness followed him and escorted him back after a short foot chase, according to police.
Officers then arrested the 28-year-old man for driving under the influence of a drug. They searched the car and found prescription drugs and pot.
They also determined the vehicle he was driving had been stolen.
He is charged with:
- Two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm
- Two counts of failing to stop at the scene of accident causing bodily harm
- Vehicle theft
- Possession of property obtained by crime
- Theft under $5,000
- Possession of stolen property.
