There were some frustrated Tragically Hip fans in London today with scalpers jacking up ticket prices for the band's up-coming tour.

Hip tickets sold out in minutes at vendors across the country, including those in Winnipeg, Toronto, Hamilton and Kingston.

Fans now have to decide how much they're willing to pay for tickets that are already reaching thousands of dollars.

Demand to see the farewell concerts has made national headlines after lead singer Gord Downie announced he has terminal brain cancer.

SomeĀ fans were lucky enough to get tickets by lining up at Budweiser Gardens.Ā

But getting to the front of the line took a whole lot of dedication with some people arriving Wednesday to ensure a spot.Ā

Alice Greenbird-ShorttĀ grabbed up eight tickets for her and herĀ friends, who spent two nights at the head of the line. Greenbird-Shortt subbed in to finish off the marathon camp out.

"We got her tickets," she screamed. "I don't even know [where]. I just said the first, best available seating."Ā
