Leamington is now part of the Trans Canadian Trail, connected by a a recently completed expansion that runs from County Road 18 to County Road 8.

The new piece of trail, that links Leamington to the coast-to-coast trail network, runs 10.5 km in length.

"It will allow people that want to, to walk across Canada from sea to sea to sea," said Alex Del Brocco, who speaks for the municipality on the project. "It will allow Leamington and southwestern Ontario to become part of the network. It's a really big deal for us."

Del Brocco says the municipality is now working on the design of a new trail that would link Leamington to Kingsville.
