This week's warm weather should cool down a little on the weekend, but temperatures overall should be warmer than normal this fall, according to Environment Canada.

On Thursday, the first day of fall, Windsor hit a high of 29 C with similar temperatures seen throughout the week.

Those levels are four or five degrees higher than what is expected for Windsor-Essex this time of year, explained David Phillips, senior climatologist for Environment Canada.

Even after the cooler weather rolls in, temperatures are expected to reach a highs around 24 C next week, which is still a degree or two higher than normal.

Environment Canada predicts a mild October, which could spill over into November.

"We might see frost on the pumpkin, we may see a dusting of snow before Remembrance Day, but it's not going to define the kind of season that we see," Phillips said.
