Windsor actor lands role in Schitt's Creek on CBC
Windsor actor Brandon Rollo used his improv skills to land a role in CBC's hit comedy Schitt's Creek.
The 18-year-old played a dimwitted character named Eric in a recent episode, shot last April.
Rollo said he tried to identify with the character during the shoot but it wasn't working out.
"The director gave me a note that really helped me set the character. He said 'act like you're a teenager who smokes meth underneath the bleachers everyday at lunch.' So, from there it just moved really easily," he said.
Rollo said taking part in the episode was an amazing opportunity to get a chance to work beside Canadian comedy stars Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara.
The student at F.J. Brennan Catholic High School said he got the acting bug after a visit to a haunted house with his family when he was 13.
"There were two drunk guys walking in our little group in the haunted house and I was pretending to be scared throughout it and they suggested I go into acting. And ever since then I've just been crazy about it," he said.
You can watch Rollo's appearance around the 12-minute mark of the episode below:
