Woman who died in stabbing was wife of the accused: Windsor police

A Windsor man has been charged with first-degree murder after a woman was found suffering stab wounds early Tuesday morning.

A Windsor man has been charged with first-degree murder after a woman was found suffering stab wounds early Tuesday morning. 

In a statement, Windsor police said they responded to a disturbance in the 1400 block of Southdale Drive, not far from Grand Marais Drive and Walker Road, and found a 67-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries.

She was pronounced dead in hospital, police said Tuesday night. 

Windsor police have since identified the woman as Janice Madison, and said she was the wife of the accused. 

According to Windsor police, investigators at the scene arrested a 62-year-old Windsor man who has been charged with first-degree murder.

Officers say no further details will be released  "to protect the integrity of the investigation."
