The Peace Fountain, which is normally placed in the Detroit River in time for the Victoria Day long weekend, won't be going into the water until July.

Its pumps had significant wear due to sediment and debris, said the City of Windsor in a news release. That was discovered while a contractor was doing annual refurbishment of pumps and motors.

New parts are required for the fountain but they will not arrive until June.

The Peace Fountain, the only international floating fountain in the world, will be staying out of the water until July.

Typically, it is placed in the Detroit River near Coventry Gardens.
