Work is now underway to fix the sinking sidewalk along the Detroit River in Dieppe Park.
Heavy equipment is breaking up the concrete walkway and dumping the pieces into a truck to be hauled away.
The City of Windsor is replacing the sidewalk closest to the water.
It closed the walkway back in February because parts of the path were sinking and causing safety concerns.
The cost of replacement estimated at $850,000.
Pedestrians and cyclists hoping to enjoy the riverfront must follow a detour while the work is going on.
