There are two possible dates - April 27 or May 4.

But Premier Wade MacLauchlan has yet to announce which one it will be.

Despite no official date, the Island's four political parties are in campaign mode.

The Prince Edward Island Progressive Conservative Party, led by Rob Lantz did an Island wide bus tour on Saturday.

The Green Party of Prince Edward Island's leader, Peter Bevan-Baker unveiled his party's election platform last week.

Mike Redmond of the New Democratic Party of Prince Edward Island released the third plank of the party's election platform Monday.

Candidates from all parties have been going door to door making campaign-like visits.

Last week, Premier MacLauchlan's Liberal government made a number of spending announcements.

All this points to an election campaign but it is one that is not yet official.

The premier can wait until after the Easter long weekend to make the official election call.

In any case, the parties will continue to unofficially campaign as they wait for it.
