The next time Jon Bon Jovi attends a wedding reception, he might want to sit at the back.

The rock singer was sitting at a table near the front of the room as a guest for a wedding celebration in Miami when the hired-band launched into a slow rendition of his 1986 hit Livin' on a Prayer.

Nothing wrong with that — until they awkwardly insisted he sing along.

The 54-year-old Bon Jovi frontman was invited — or more accurately, pressured — by the wedding band's lead singer, Lourdes Valentin, to join her in front of the other guests.

You could tell in the cringe-worthy video below the man just wanted the entire ordeal to end quickly but that wasn't going to happen.

He politely resisted at first but as the camera remained on him, it was evident his gentle protesting was futile.

Eventually, Bon Jovi took the microphone and joined the wedding band, left alone at moments to keep it going.

To his credit, he was a good sport and had the audience singing along.

His smile only looked slightly forced.

Valentin posted to her Twitter page after the event: "Singing with famous Jon Bon Jovi that was a thrill."
