How to Train Your Dragon 2 returns with dragon adventures

Returning to the high-flying world of How to Train Your Dragon is like getting back into the saddle for animated filmmaker Dean Dublois and actors Jay Baruchel and America Ferrera.

The Canadian director reteams with the two stars of the animated hit this week as How to Train Your Dragon 2 opens in cinemas.

Taking on the heroic young Viking hero Hiccup has become a regular part of Baruchel's life, the Montrealer said, since the 2010 original also spawned a popular cartoon series.

Considering the Canadian talent behind many animated projects today, Deblois foresees a day when he can make a blockbuster like How To Train Your Dragon in Canada.

"I hope I can. I would love to make a movie here in Canada," he told CBC News.

"I know the capacity is here and the talent is here, but I’m not sure if the budgets are [yet]."
