Chart-topping Canadian singer to host 2017 ceremony in Ottawa
Michael Bublé will be back for his second stint as host of Canada's Juno Awards in 2017.
The Burnaby, B.C. singer will emcee next year's edition of the Canadian music awards in Ottawa, during the yearlong celebrations marking Canada's 150th birthday, the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences and broadcaster CTV announced Tuesday.
"I'm just a kid from Burnaby, so to get the opportunity to host this incredible night in Canadian music, for the second time, is amazing," Bublé said in a statement.
The chart-topping crooner previously hosted the Junos in Regina in 2013. He also won a Canadian Screen Award for the gig.
Bublé just released his ninth studio album Nobody But Me in October, a comeback of sorts after having undergone vocal cord surgery earlier this year. The surgery postponed his receiving the National Arts Centre Award, which will now be presented to him in Ottawa next June.
A multiple Juno and Grammy Award-winner, Bublé has sold more than 50 million records and performed for millions around the globe.
The 2017 Juno Awards take place at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa on April 2.
