Prince George starts nursery school near family home

Prince George starts nursery school Wednesday at Westacre Montessori School near the family's home in Norfolk, about 180 kilometres north of London.

Duchess of Cambridge takes 2½-year-old to 1st day of nursery at Montessori school in Norfolk

Prince George started nursery school today at Westacre Montessori School near the family's home in Norfolk, about 180 kilometres north of London.

He was dropped off by his mother, Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, who took photographs of the event. Two of the photos were later released by Kensington Palace and posted on social media.

The palace had announced in December that the prince, aged 2½, would attend the school, getting the same Montessori nursery experience as his father, Prince William, and uncle Prince Harry, British media reported.

The schools use educational methods developed by Maria Montessori in Italy at the beginning of the 20th century.  They are said to foster a child's natural inclination to learn.

Kate has previously published photos of her children. George's younger sister Charlotte was in two pictures released in November and posted on social media.
