Val Kilmer addresses cancer rumours in Reddit AMA
Actor says he had 'a healing of cancer' during online 'Ask Me Anything' Q&A session

Actor Val Kilmer appeared to acknowledge he had cancer during a Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything) session last week, after months of denying reports and rumours on the subject.
Reddit user JanMichaelVincent16 asked Kilmer about reports from November that he had throat cancer. At the time, Michael Douglas said Kilmer was "dealing with" throat cancer, a disease Douglas himself was diagnosed with in 2010. To which Kilmer, 57, responded he had "no cancer whatsoever," and that Douglas was "misinformed."
On Reddit, however, the actor known for his roles in Top Gun, Batman Forever, The Doors and more said he "did have a healing of cancer," adding that his tongue is still swollen but it is "healing all the time."
Speculation about Kilmer's health dates back to 2015, when he was reportedly hospitalized for a possible tumour.
Last November, he appeared to struggle to speak during an event promoting his one-man play Citizen Twain. He said he sought treatment and had a swollen tongue, but was "rehabbing steadily."
Kilmer's publicist didn't immediately respond to a request for comment Monday from the Associated Press.
