Advance polling stations will be open on Monday for the final of three days of early voting before the May 2 federal election.

Elections Canada will keep the advance polling stations open from 12 noon to 8 p.m. local time on Monday. The advance polls were also open on Friday and Saturday.

While the official tally of how many Canadians voted early won't be known until Tuesday, Elections Canada has indicated the participation rate was high for the first two days.

There were some reports of waits at polling stations.

Elections Canada is reminding citizens they must be registered to vote, which they can do at the polling station. And they must bring proof of identification, such as a driver's licence, to the advance polling station. If voters have their voter information card, they can find their advance-poll location on the back.

Poll locations can also be determined at Elections Canada's website.

Canadians also have until April 26 to register with Elections Canada to vote by a special ballot. Once voters have registered for the special ballot, they can cast their ballot at the local Elections Canada office or bring it ballot home as long as it is returned by the deadline on May 2.
