The CBC Pollcast, hosted by CBC poll analyst and ThreeHundredEight.com founder Éric Grenier, explores the world of political polls and the trends they reveal.

Joining Éric on today's podcast is Deveryn Ross, a political columnist for the Winnipeg Free Press and Westman Journal.

The latest polls out of Manitoba suggest the race might not be the cakewalk that some expected for Brian Pallister's Progressive Conservatives. The New Democrats are struggling after almost 17 years in office, but the Liberals under Rana Bokhari are surging in the polls.

Are these Liberal gains for real? Can Pallister hold off the Liberals and the NDP to return the PCs to power for the first time since 1999? Or can Premier Greg Selinger of the NDP defy the odds?
