Animal studies suggest that restricting calories by 25 per cent can almost double a creature's lifespan. So far, tests in humans have shown improvements in immune function and researchers in the U.S. expect to show that eating less will actually slow the aging process.
But is it worth it? CBC's Kelly Crowe explores the dilemma.
