British actor Patrick Stewart posted a clip of himself reciting the lyrics of Taylor Swift with the gravitas usually reserved for a Shakespearean soliloquy, and T. Swift approves.

Stewart and his best bud Ian McKellen recently recorded an episode of NPR's quiz show Ask Me Another, airing Aug. 20.

"We've given Sir Patrick some song lyrics that are well known, but not quite the level of Shakespeare he might be used to," said Ask Me Another host Ophira Eisenberg, speaking to the show's contestants. "So you just have to ring in when you know the answer."

The audio suggests no one wanted to interrupt Stewart's recitation by ringing in.

(If you're not familiar with Swift's Blank Spacehere she is singing the same lyrics.)

Stewart's request to join Swift's "squad" appears to have been accepted.

Stewart was suitably agog.

The actor, best known for playing Capt. Jean-Luc Picard on Star Trek: The Next Generation, is also becoming known for his recent Twitter antics, including the New York adventure with McKellen referenced by Swift in her tweet.

McKellen, Stewart's longtime friend and X-Men co-star, officiated at Stewart's wedding to jazz singer Sunny Ozell.
